Readers: Halp!

So chaps, I’ll be writing a guest submission for Katzenworld and I wondered if there are any questions you have about bonding with new cats or learning how to communicate with them? I appreciate many of you are cat veterans so any common problems you find others have or things people should know about would be good, too.

I have a general idea mapped out but it would be good to get some input. 🙂

Steady Improvement

A good night for the HazelNut. Very settled by comparison to the last week. Starting to understand that humans get grumpy when she pounces on their feet and/or noses when they’re sleeping.

Kitten pleased to see Human up so early and has her breakfast all over her chin.

Going good! 🙂

Barbecue Day

Kitten and Vim are excited to meet new human friends when they come for barbecue today! Let’s hope humans don’t turn on the tap in the sky.

Kitten Unimpressed

It is raining again and Human still refuses to turn the tap off. This is very inconvenient.  Vim thinks so, too.

Serious moment, k?

Sometimes it’s really hard to believe that the kitten we have is the same one who came with us on a summer evening two months ago.

Despite being so unsure of us and where she was, she was always interested and always watching. The kitten we had then hid under the sofa most days, and grumbled when we touched her. She grumbled at almost everything, in fact.

Now? Now she follows me everywhere and can’t even continue a nap if I leave the room. She talks all the time, she’s much more confident, she plays (gently) so much, she has such vibrant character.

I added ‘gently’ because that’s the amazing thing about Willow. For a kit with such a rough time behind her, she’s so gentle and so loving, even when she’s playing. She’s a kind cat. She’s a well behaved cat. And those things have everything to do with her, not us.

More Splores!

Hazel came down to have a look at the rest of the house today while Kitten had a gander at the bedroom. Kitten full of play this evening.

It’s Not Terry’s…

This is not Human’s t shirt what Kitten stole.

It is Kitten’s t shirt what she rightfully reclaimed.

(Human sneakily pleased as this was the t shirt Hazel slept against last night, scent swapping sneaks)

Kitten Day

Human has had a pleasant day with both kittens.

Kitten continues to prove her status as a good egg (a very good egg) by sitting outside Hazel’s door to talk to her and doesn’t even try to push to get into the room. Human is a very lucky human.

Hazel the Explorer

Hazel has been allowed to wander into the hallway while Kitten has her lunch time nap in the living room. Everything smells interesting!
